Types of piercings and their names - tips masters on piercing ears, nose, eyebrows, lips, tongue, photos of works

These days, everyone pays more and more attention to their own appearance. For some people just enough to look neat, to be dressed in a modest and not too fashionable, but good-quality clothes, someone of the fair sex pay special attention to their makeup and neatness of the hair (although the latter can be characterized by following a simple rule: the more strange, the more fashionable).

Some of the famous people (mainly this applies to athletes and representatives of show business) believe that simple fame is not enough for them, and try to stand out even more by applying a huge number of tattoos on the body. And for some people even this method of self-expression is not quite enough, and they are forced to resort to another method of distinguishing themselves from the crowd of their kind. And this method is called "piercing".

The word piercing itself is translated from English as "piercing" or even "stringing". Piercing is accepted to refer to one of the varieties of modification of own body in one or several places, by means of piercing and the subsequent carrying of one or many ornaments.

The desire to make a piercing is explained by the desire to express more your "I", even more significantly to stand out from the general mass of people. And there is a piercing of all possible forms of rings and even pins, which people stick into themselves in different parts of the body, who in the ear, who in the language, who in the navel, who does not spare even their own eyebrows. Into what kinds can we conventionally divide piercings?

Types of piercings

Piercing on the ears

In turn can be divided into several types:

  • industrial, represents 2 holes in the ear canal, connected horizontally or vertically with a single ornament;
  • Tragus, performed in the ear canal, when a ring or nail is inserted in the hole made;
  • Helix piercing, usually performed in the upper part of the ear canal and characterized by a rapid healing;
  • Earlobe piercing, is the most standard and usual type of piercing, because every woman since childhood pierces her earlobes to wear beautiful earrings;
  • Snag piercing is performed in the middle part of the ear, almost opposite the ear canal, when the ear lobe is simply pierced with a nail.

Lip Piercing.

Can also be divided into several types:

  • Monroe, a piercing above the upper lip on the left, depicting a small mole as a result;
  • Madonna, the piercing is the same as the previous one, performed on the right side;

Obviously, the prototypes of this type of piercing were two world celebrities: Marilyn Monroe and Madonna.

  • Jellyfish, the piercing is performed just under the nasal septum, in the dimple under the nose;
  • labret, is a single puncture under the lower lip, either vertically or horizontally;
  • Ashley, the piercing is carried out in the center of the lower lip, and is perhaps the most painful, but it is not for nothing they say that beauty requires sacrifice;

Tongue Piercing

This is a very original way of drawing attention to yourself. The most often used jewelry is made of titanium or surgical steel.

As a result, the jewelry is completely hidden in the mouth of the person who decided to make it, and the main disadvantage is the very slow healing of the tongue.

Belly button piercing

It is especially popular with the fair sex, who believe that a bright ring or, rather, more often used carnation will give them additional attractiveness. The piercing is performed with a special needle, and the upper skin of the navel is pierced. The procedure can take very little time, at most 10 seconds, but then you should take a long time to care for the place of the piercing, because it is likely to get an infection.

Nipple Piercing

It can be performed horizontally, vertically and even diagonally. Often the nipple piercing is used, which can lead to extremely undesirable consequences. Experts strongly recommend the use of this type of piercing only for men, forbidding women to use such a negative impact on their own mammary gland for self-expression.

Nail Piercing

Is very popular among the owners of luxurious manicure and long nails. The nail piercing procedure is almost painless, but the result looks quite impressive.

Corset

This kind of piercing is not very popular. It consists in making piercings in pairs (most often on the back or legs), in which small rings are inserted, into which, in turn, a strip is passed. In appearance, it strongly resembles the usual lacing of a corset.

Piercing on the nose

It is divided into several types:

  • Bridge, is made in the bridge area, both horizontally and vertically;
  • Septril, performed on the underside of the tip of the nose;
  • Septum, done above the lip, is concluded in the piercing of the nasal septum (from ancient times relevant in different tribes);

Intimate piercing.

The name speaks for itself. It is performed directly on the genitals. It is divided into male and female.

Male intimate piercings:

  • Prince Albert, the puncture is performed through the urethra, and the decoration is usually a balloon ring;
  • apallang, a transverse puncture of the glans of the penis, is performed not too deep and with extreme care to avoid touching the urethra;
  • frenum, a puncture is made at the base of the glans of the penis, into which a ring is pierced;

Female intimate piercings:

  • Superficial, decorating the pubic area;
  • Inner labia, performed on the labia majora and labia minora;
  • clitoris, performed in the center or at the base of the clitoris;
  • Nefertiti, performing piercings with the placement of the decoration deep below the clitoral nerve;
  • Cristina, a piercing of the fold at the junction of the labia, characterized by a very long healing time (up to 1 year);

Who is not recommended for piercing

There are quite a few categories of people to whom, despite their possible desire to stand out in this way, piercing is strictly contraindicated. These primarily include:

  • Women during pregnancy and lactation;
  • People with allergies to the metals used in piercings or painkillers;
  • carriers of viral infections in the active phase;
  • cancer patients;
  • Patients diagnosed with hepatitis, HIV, AIDS, diabetes;
  • people with poor blood clotting;

Fans of such self-expression should remember that it is better to make new punctures in the cold season, as the heat will contribute to inflammation.

The work should be performed by a master who has the appropriate license, and only with disposable tools.

It is important for minors to have written permission from their parents or guardians.
